Preparing God's Word for your heart
“The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.”
Isaiah 40:8
Necessity is laid upon me; yea woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel! What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel.
They called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said unto them, . . . We cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.
The love of Christ constraineth us.
I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth . . . Thou wicked and slothful servant, . . . thou oughtest . . . to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.
Go . . . to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom.
Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.—Death and life are in the power of the tongue.
The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.
The law of his God is in his heart: none of his steps shall slide.—Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
We cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.—I believed, therefore have I spoken.
Whosoever . . . shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.—With the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
